Ingredients

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint (chopped)
  • ½ cup boondi balls
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together the yogurt and water until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the chopped onion, mint, boondi, cumin powder, salt, and red chilli powder. Mix well.
  • Garnish with some crispy boondi, mint leaves, and a sprinkle of chaat masala. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
  • Ensure the yogurt is fresh and not sour.
  • I use thick Greek yogurt, but you can use buttermilk instead. (Just skip the water if you do.)
  • For an extra flavor boost, I often add a frozen chutney cube to the raita.
