Ingredients

For Chicken Tikka:

  • 500 grams chicken (boneless, cut into long thick strips)
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon tikka masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup iceberg lettuce (shredded)
  • 1 cup cucumbers (julienned)
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard sauce

For Assembling:

  • 4 burger buns (split, lightly toasted)
  • lettuce leaves (roughly torn, as needed)
  • 1 cup cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup tomatoes (thinly sliced)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine chicken, yogurt, salt, tikka masala, and red chili flakes. Mix well and set aside to marinate.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, red chili powder, black pepper powder, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard sauce in a bowl.
  • Cook the marinated chicken in a pan until golden brown on both sides and fully cooked through.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread some prepared sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Add cooked chicken, then layer with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. Add lettuce leaves and top with the other half of the bun. Your tikka burger is ready.
  • Serve on a platter with extra sauce or ketchup on the side. Enjoy! And Remember “COOKING IS EASY!”

Notes

  • If you have access to a grill, grilling the chicken adds a great smoky flavor.
  • A grill pan also works well for a nice charred finish.
  • You can marinate the chicken in advance, it stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
