Ingredients

  • 1 kg salmon fillet (skin on, cleaned)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted, melted)
  • 2 tablespoons garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon basil (dried)
  • 1 whole lemon (sliced)
  • 1 whole green chili

Instructions

  • Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes. This ensures even cooking.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper powder, and dried basil.
  • Place the salmon fillet skin side down in a glass dish or any ovenproof dish. Pour and spread the prepared marinade evenly over the salmon.
  • Arrange lemon slices and the whole green chili around the salmon for extra flavor and aroma.
  • Bake uncovered in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  • Serve hot, drizzled with the flavorful pan juices. Pair with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad. Enjoy! And remember “COOKING IS EASY!”

Notes

  • You can also use smaller salmon fillets.
  • Swap butter for olive oil for a lighter version.
  • Always thaw frozen salmon overnight in the refrigerator before cooking.
