Ingredients

  • 3 medium mangoes

Instructions

  • Gently wash the mangoes under running water and pat them dry. Once dried, peel them.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut two sides of the mangoes off the pit. This will yield 3 pieces: two parallel slices called the cheeks and a middle piece that includes the pit.
  • Slice each mango cheek into thin, uniform slices, approximately 2 to 3 mm thick.
  • Gently shape each sliced cheek into a long overlapping row, then curl the row carefully into a flower shape.
  • Now carefully lift your mango flower with a spatula and use it to decorate your desserts.
  • One mango will yield two mango roses. Make as many flowers as you want for your desserts. Enjoy! And remember “COOKING IS EASY!”

Notes

  • Use the mango flesh from the center piece (around the pit) to make mango lassi.
  • For the best results, use ripe but firm mangoes - Pakistani Honey Mangoes work beautifully.
  • To create larger roses, assemble them directly on your dessert to prevent breaking the shape.
