The ingredients required to make this refreshing strawberry lemonade:
How long can I store this strawberry lemonade?
- You can make this lemonade ahead of time. It stays fresh in refrigerator up to 3 days. Don’t forget to give it a good stir each time before serving.
- It can also be stored it in the freezer to be enjoyed later. Blend the strawberries, lemon juice, sugar and some water together in a blender and then freeze this mixture in ice cube tray. When you are ready to serve, add the frozen lemonade cubes in a glass, pour some water over them, garnish with sliced lemons and strawberries, stir everything well and your thirst quencher is ready. There is no need to add ice cubes if you are using frozen lemonade cubes.
Can I make this strawberry lemonade low carbs or keto friendly?
You can easily make this lemonade low carbs by substituting brown sugar with stevia.
Tip for extracting more juice out of the lemons:
Before cutting the lemon, microwave it for 25 – 30 seconds. Once it has cooled, cut it and juice as normal. It will require minimum efforts and more juices will be extracted. Believe me microwaving the citrus fruits is a game changer.
Recipe Notes:
- Feel free to swap the strawberries with any fruit you like.
- You can also replace plain water with sparkling water if you like it bubbly.
- Instead of brown sugar, maple syrup or honey can also be used.
- Frozen (thawed) strawberries can also be used for this recipe.
- More water can be added to dilute the lemonade if it is too strong.
- You can always garnish your lemonade with fresh mint leaves.
- Soaked basil or chia seeds can also be added for extra goodness.
Equipment, tools or ingredients I used:
- This kitchen machine is my absolute favourite.
- Use ice cube tray to freeze the concentrate of this lemonade for later use.
- The above mentioned machine already has a citrus squeezer but this lemon squeezer is quite handy.
- Use measuring jug for water measurement.
- I have a good experience with this stevia. After using it for many years I can safely recommend it.
- These reusable straws are very good.
