Smoothies and milkshakes are a perfect way to start your healthy day with! Here comes a simple and easy recipe of thick and flavourful power packed smoothie that you can have as breakfast, post workout snack or perhaps as a dessert. You don’t need to add any sugar as the sweetness of dates and bananas is enough, which makes it a rich and healthy alternative to curb your sweet tooth. This smoothie has a few simple ingredients and can be prepared only in five minutes.
As a mom of young kid, I prefer having smoothies in breakfast as they are super delicious and super quick to make as a grab ‘n go breakfast on busy days. It will give you an energy boost for the day and will keep you full until lunch time. It is rich in fiber, loaded with numerous vitamins and minerals, has an extra creamy texture and is incredibly delicious sunshine in a cup.

The ingredients you’ll need for this power packed smoothie:
- Bananas: Bananas are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, especially potassium. They make any smoothie thick, naturally sweet, and creamy.
- Apple: Apples have numerous health benefits. They are rich in fiber, antioxidants and improve gut health.
- Dates: Dates are naturally sweet and a very useful sugar replacement. They support gut and bone health.
- Oatmeal: Oatmeal is rich in fiber, and it makes smoothies filling. I most often use old-fashioned rolled oats, but quick oats work too.
- Blueberries: Rich in antioxidants and give that beautiful color to this smoothie. They help prevent heart disease and regulate blood sugar.
- Milk: I used regular full fat milk, but you may also use unsweetened almonds milk, soy milk or cashew milk.
Storage Suggestions:
This smoothie stays fresh in refrigerator up to 2 days in a sealed bottle. Just give it a good mix before serving and you are good to go.
Recipe Notes:
- You can also add a dash of cinnamon powder to enhance the taste of this smoothie.
- This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to make a larger batch.
- I used my blender to blend this smoothie but can also use hand mixer for blending.
- You can adjust the ingredients according to your liking.
