Sweet and Spicy Fruit Chaat (Pakistani Fruit Salad for Iftar)
Make this easy Pakistani fruit chaat recipe for Iftar. It is a sweet, tangy, and refreshing fruit salad ready in minutes.

Fruit chaat is a refreshing and colorful Pakistani fruit salad. It is most popular during Ramadan and is often served at Iftar. This chaat is sweet, spicy, and slightly tangy. Most people season fruit chaat with chaat masala, black pepper, and sometimes black salt; however, it also tastes great without any additional seasoning. You can make it with any seasonal fruits you have at home.
Many families make their own version. Some add orange juice, imli chutney, or even boiled chickpeas for extra flavor. Others like a sweeter style with cream and sugar. Every version has its own unique flavor. My mother always mixes in chickpeas, which makes the chaat filling and wholesome.

This fruit chaat recipe is perfect for Iftar, or any time you want a quick and easy fruit salad. It uses simple ingredients and is ready in minutes.
Fruit chaat is also a great side dish for parties, BBQs, picnics, and potlucks. I used the fruits I had at home, but you can even make this with just one fruit if you like.

Recipe Notes
- Use any fruits you like or have at home.
- Add a little fresh orange juice for extra flavor.
- Skip black pepper if you want a mild taste.
- Chill the chaat for 10 – 15 minutes so the fruits release their juices.
- Add bananas right before serving so they don’t turn brown or mushy.
- You can add black salt (kala namak) for more tang.
- Skip chaat masala and reduce black pepper if making it for kids.
- I used jaggery powder (gur) instead of sugar, but you can use maple syrup or sugar.
