Best, Easy and Healthy Baked Salmon Recipe

This baked salmon, infused with lemon, garlic and herbs is perfect for busy weeknights when you don’t have much time to cook. Golden sear from the outside and tender and flaky from the inside. It is so delicious and cooked in one pan for easy clean up! It comes together so quickly and needs only a handful of ingredients. Just rub the salmon with marinade and then bake in oven till perfection.

You can make this hearty dish under half an hour for an easy and family-pleasing dinner! This simple recipe makes an elegant and delicious dinner. It pairs well with steamed vegetables, salad, crusty bread or boiled rice for satisfying meal. You can serve it with whatever you like best.
I made this high protein meal using a side of salmon (skin on) for tasty weeknight dinner but you can use a small fillet and remove the skin if you like. Ingredients
- 1 kg salmon fillet (skin on, cleaned)
- 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted, melted)
- 2 tablespoons garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon basil (dried)
- 1 whole lemon (sliced)
- 1 whole green chili
Instructions
- Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes. This ensures even cooking.
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper powder, and dried basil.
- Place the salmon fillet skin side down in a glass dish or any ovenproof dish. Pour and spread the prepared marinade evenly over the salmon.
- Arrange lemon slices and the whole green chili around the salmon for extra flavor and aroma.
- Bake uncovered in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve hot, drizzled with the flavorful pan juices. Pair with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad. Enjoy! And remember “COOKING IS EASY!”
Notes
- You can also use smaller salmon fillets.
- Swap butter for olive oil for a lighter version.
